April Update from Philoptochos

The next few weeks will be busy ones for Philoptochos!  Please see below for an overview of the events that are coming up:

We are currently holding a drive to collect school supplies for the Riverton School in Portland for the coming school year.  Budget cuts make it increasingly difficult for schools to meet the demand for supplies and teachers are supplementing supplies from their own funds.  Please help us in this effort.  A supplies list is available next to the bin for collection in the church basement.  Also, this list was posted on the flyer that was sent out recently.

It is that time again when the Philoptochos ladies organize the cleaning of the church before Holy Week.  So please grab your buckets and come on Saturday, April 13, starting at 9:00 AM! We are asking all the parishioners of our church to please come and help if they can!

Easter is almost here and we, once again, are going ahead with the wonderful tradition of baking the delicious Lambropsomo.  If you are able to help with the baking of bread, we would love to see you on one of the designated baking days:  April 15, 16, 17 and 18.  Your efforts will ensure that this tradition is not lost.  Please know that because of your support and dedication, this fundraiser helps us meet all of our charitable commitments to our community and beyond.

Once again we are hosting the Philoptochos Palm Sunday Dinner, April 21st in the Parish House immediately after Divine Liturgy.  We will be needing help with serving and clean up.  Hope to see you there! Don’t forget to make your reservations early!

ELECTIONS!  This May we will be holding elections for officers for our chapter.   There are three or four positions that need to be filled and we ask that you consider helping out.  Philoptochos is a great organization both locally and certainly at the national level.  Please consider helping.
